Monday, June 19th:

The first day that the two groups of walkers met each other, on the grounds of the Westwood United Methodist Church.

The union (and for some, reunion) was very exciting and emotional. This was it! Over forty people filled the sleeping space, and by nightfall thirty more had arrived from OC Friends of Tibet and LA Friends of Tibet for dinner. The final week promised to be huge, and there was a sense that the walk would grow to take on a life and a momentum of its own by Saturday. A group of six wonderful Tibetans also arrived from Salt Lake City, Utah to join for the week. And, it was Biggie's birthday (Jeff Napier, ITIM member at large).
