Dear Ambassador Zhang Keyuan, I am writing to respectfully request that you encourage President Hu Jintao to free Gendhun Choekyi Nyima (The Panchen Lama), His family, Chadrel Rinpoche, Chamba Chung, and others involved in the discovery of this important Lama. As you know April 25th is The Panchen Lama's 19th Birthday. It has been 13 years since anyone has been able to see or talk to him or the other individuals I just mentioned. Additionally, I respectfully ask that you urge President Hu Jintao to immediately free Tenzin Delek Rinpoche. Rinpoche's imprisonment is unjustifiable and death sentence unwarranted. With the upcoming Olympics, your country can demonstrate to the world its commitment to human rights by releasing all the individuals identified in this message. Thank you for your consideration.
