The Northwest Tibetan Cultural Association put on a fabulous Losar party on March 14th and invited all the walkers as their special guests. What a great night! Our plates where covered in excellent Tibetan food, our glasses where kept full (so much so, a few of us were worried about 'getting hung over for Tibet.') and our feet were kept moving with some traditional dancing.
After a late night we were a little slow getting start this morning and we had to pack to move to our new housing in Kalama, Washington, but once we got out on the road it was back to buisness.
A reporter joined the group walking and interviewing for a few hours. He spent a long time hearing about Inner Mongolia from Altanbat and at our lunch spot, in the shadow of the now decommissioned Trojan Nuclear Power Plant, he talked a long time with Ani la.
Sometimes it just doesn't matter where you find a place to sit. When your feet and legs are tired a rock slide can be as comfortable as a your favorite chair. While we took a water break, I think Henry actually managed to snooze here. |
