Day 3 – July 27

Six Tibetans from Madison joined us today. One of these individuals decided to stay on with us and complete the entire walk. The weather was once again hot but a wind helped cool it down. During the day, some of us encountered a group of over 50 motorcycle riders who ignored us. A couple of the other local motorists were not very friendly. After walking a 15+ miles we drove to the Deer Park Buddhist Center where we had an inspiring audience with Geshe Sopa-la. The leaders of the Wisconsin Tibetan Association were also present as were many members of the local Tibetan community. The Association President, Lobsang Tenzin, recognized our efforts and shared his strong support for our walk. From this event, we went to the Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Brooklyn, Wisconsin where the Church members treated us for a meal. We then talked to the members about Tibet, China, and the future of the USA.
