is coordinating another "March for Tibet's Independence." This time we will walk from Indianapolis to China's Consulate in Chicago. This 220+ mile walk will begin on November 30th and end on December 10th. December 10th is the Anniversary of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and His Holiness The Dalai Lama receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. We hope that hundreds of Tibetans and Tibet Supporters will stand with us at The Chinese Consulate on December 10th to protest China's illegal occupation of Tibet! Jigme Norbu (son of Taktser Rinpoche and nephew of His Holiness The Dalai Lama) will once again lead this walk as a way to further His father's lifelong effort to regain Tibet's independence. Why walk so soon after our Florida walk? Because we have not achieved our objective of returning Tibet to the Tibetans! Given the outcome of the recent Tibetan delegation that visited China, it is essential that we continue to actively mobilize worldwide support to secure Tibet's independence and that we also devote more energy and resources to secure the release of Tibetan political prisoners, especially The Panchen Lama, Gendhun Choekyi Nyima. Why are we walking? --Because Tibet Belongs to Tibetans --For the Tibetans in Tibet --To educate people about the situation in Tibet --To dialogue with Chinese individuals about the history and current situation in Tibet --To advocate for the release of Gendhun Choekyi Nyima, The Panchen Lama --To advocate for the release of other Tibetan prisoners, particularly Tenzin Delek Rinpoche --To stop the railroad and pipeline being built in Tibet by China --To promote a Boycott of China's Goods --To encourage people to Buy Tibetan --To stop the environmental destruction in Tibet --To stop the marginalization of the Tibetan population --To advocate for democracy in China --To ask China to negotiate with no preconditions with the Tibetan Government In-Exile --For Tibet, Eastern Turkestan, Southern Mongolia, and Taiwan's independence |
