Day 9 - August 3

Two guest walkers from Madison, WI joined us today. These two Tibetans had walked with us the first couple of days as well. Keeping in mind the hunger strikers in India, many of the walkers once again decided to drink much less water as a way to show their support and experience some hardship. A Tibetan couple from Madison brought us lunch, as did a Tibetan woman from Chicago. In fact, four Tibetans from Chicago showed up at lunchtime. Interestingly, the couple from Madison and the Tibetans from Chicago all showed up within a 5-minute time period at a remote gas station operated by an Indian family! This seemed to be a very low probability occurrence and we attributed it to karma! One of the Tibetans from Chicago will now remain with us and complete the walk. Palden Gyatso for yet another day set the pace and led the walk. We walked 10.4 miles today. In the evening, we prepared our own dinner and watched an inspiring video about a village in Tibet made by one of our core walkers. We were also interviewed in person by a local reporter.
