Day 13- August 6, 2008

Thirty-one people walked today: 5 westerners and 26 Tibetans. Most of the Tibetans were under the age of 20 and almost all from Chicago. One westerner woman from Milwaukee drove 2 hours with her young son and infant to walk with us. She walked almost the entire day. The weather was much more comfortable as the temperature was lower and there was little humidity.

Three Tibetan families supplied lunch. Throughout the entire day, we received a lot of support. Individuals in police cars, fire trucks, UPS trucks, postal vehicles, school buses, and even passenger trains honked their horns in support.

There was much talk all day about the tragic event in San Francisco and the exciting events in Beijing. This really inspired everyone.

Our host family once again provided us with a great dinner.
