Day 10 - August 3

Palden Gyatso and Wangchuk Dorje stayed back in the morning and attended the Sunday Church Service at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Kenosha. After the Service, Palden-la shared his story with the attendees and also discussed the situation in Tibet. Wangchuk-la served as the interpreter. The Church members were quite moved by Palden-la's story and presence.

While Palden-la and Wangchuk-la were at the Church, everyone else was walking. It was a bit cooler today, and once again, we drank less water in support of the hunger strikers in India. Palden and Wangchuk joined the walk in the early afternoon.

There were two guest walkers today including Ellen from Elkhorn who has now walked with us a couple of times. She is definitely a breath of fresh air.

We walked 13+ miles today. There was an amazing amount support from passing motorists. At one point, we experienced about 5-10 minutes of non-stop horn blowing. Perhaps it helped that we had a major story in the Kenosha News this morning.

In the evening, MK had a slight auto accident. She backed into our host Minister's car with our rental van! The Minister handled the situation quite well as did MK. While this is the third accident we have encountered over the years on our walks and bike rides, this was actually the first one where our vehicle was involved.
