ITIM brings Rangzen message to Tibet Fest The International Tibet Independence Movement proudly represented the clear voice of rangzen at Tibet Fest 5 in Litchfield CT, July 25-26, 2009. At least 50 different Tibet-focused organizations were present, including Students for a Free Tibet, The International Campaign for Tibet, Tibet House, and numerous other cultural, religious, and political organizations. The two day event was well attended by Tibetans and supporters alike, as they enjoyed musical performances, chanting and sand mandala creation by the monks of Drepung Gomang Monastery in South India, and speeches raising awareness about the situation in Tibet. Tenzin Dorjee of Students for a Free Tibet spoke to the crowd, as well as Ngawang Sandol, former political prisoner in Tibet. The weekend provided ITIM with an ideal opportunity to raise awareness about the Panchen Lama, Gendun Choekyi Nyima, the world's youngest political prisoner, as well connect with longtime rangzen supporters and many individuals new to the cause.
